At the end of February a hearty band of cruisers will set out on an extraordinary adventure.  From all over the world we will converge on Fort Lauderdale Florida and embark on a 10 day voyage to adventure and self discovery.

From the shores of Florida we will set out for Half Moon Cay, a private enclave for those fortunate enough to be sailing on Holland America's Zuiderdam.   At Half Moon Cay we will enjoy the sand, sun and surf and let all our cares vanish into the warm sea air.

Then it's off to far away Oranjestad, Aruba where the warm breezes will beckon us to the sea for snorkeling, boating and sight seeing.  Some of us may even hear the calls of the town area for some shopping in this quaint Dutch village.

It's only a short hop to Willemstad, Curacao where a beautiful island will welcome us with great vistas, water sports and sightseeing.  Possibly even more shopping.

Then, what we've all been waiting for, we enter the Panama Canal.  A marvel of engineering and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.  We arrive before dawn so remember to set your alarm clocks.  One of the quirks of this cruise is that the time zomes will change a few times so pay attention and don't be left at the dock.

From here it's only a short trip to Costa Rica and adventures in the Rain Forest before two blissfully restful sea days carry us back to reality.  Let's hope that Costa Rica has recovered from the recent earthquake.
